Established in 2008, the MIT Clean Energy Prize is a venture creation and innovation competition focused specifically on clean energy. To date, over $800,000 has been awarded to winners. Open to other universities, 80 business plan submissions were received this year that represent 47 different universities in the US. 25 semi-finalists were ultimately chosen, and spread over 5 different categories.
